Help our mum live her life again, free from pain

Our beautiful and caring mum, Tess, needs your support.

Tess has been living with severe and chronic hip and back pain for many years due to osteoarthritis, but her condition has worsened dramatically in the last two years. Since April, the impact of being unable to support herself physically has created meniscus damage in her left knee. This has only been diagnosed recently, and she is awaiting treatment for this. The pain that our mum endures has completely changed her way of life. She is now in a position where her mobility, independence, and access to the world around her are immensely limited and restricted.

The waiting time for a hip replacement operation on the NHS is at least two years. That is two years (if not more) of our mum having her world off-limits, shadowed in pain and fatigue. She has been on the list for nine months.

We aim to raise £20,000 to allow Tess to have some of her life back. The money raised would enable our mum to have the hip operation much quicker and the treatment she would need for her knee, restoring much of her mobility and movement.

We are asking our family, friends, neighbours and the beautiful communities we live in to help us achieve this total. Anything you are able to give is so unbelievably appreciated and respected. There is no 'small' or 'big' amount, just human generosity and community response. Any leftover funding will be donated to the local charity Help Bristol's Homeless.

Our mum longs for the freedom of movement that many of us, living without extremely debilitating pain, take as a given. Seeing our mum with such a restricted life has been so hard; this is why we are asking for your kindness, support and compassion.
