Our Mother’s Last Hope: Life-Saving Stage 4 Cancer Treatment

I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my friend’s family, because they are from Bosnia and cannot set up a GoFundMe account themselves.

Our beloved mother, Mersiја, is fighting one of the most aggressive forms of stage 4 lung cancer.

The disease collapsed her entire left lung and spread to her bones, lymph nodes, and adrenal gland. It damaged her vocal nerve, leaving her with permanent hoarseness, and forced her into emergency hospitalizations just to breathe.

She has endured extreme pain, severe weakness, and the loss of her voice. And yet she fights, every single day, with quiet and unwavering strength.

When we were told that the tumor had grown and that there was nothing more they could do but offer palliative care, we couldn’t accept that as the end. Our mum was still breathing with one lung, still holding on, still smiling through the pain.

Because the healthcare system in Bosnia is extremely limited, we moved to Istanbul in search of hope. And here, she has a fighting chance. But sadly, we are reaching the point where we cannot continue without help.

We have made it this far on our own, but now we need you.

Organizujem ovu kampanju za prikupljanje sredstava u ime porodice moje prijateljice, jer oni dolaze iz Bosne i nisu u mogućnosti da sami otvore GoFundMe profil.

Naša voljena majka, Mersiјa, bori se s jednim od najagresivnijih oblika karcinoma pluća u četvrtoj fazi.

Bolest je urušila cijelo njeno lijevo plućno krilo i proširila se na kosti, limfne čvorove i nadbubrežnu žlijezdu. Oštetila je njen glasni živac, ostavljajući je s trajnom promuklošću, i prisilila je na hitne hospitalizacije samo da bi mogla disati.

Podnijela je ekstremne bolove, veliku slabost i gubitak glasa. Ipak, ona se bori, svaki dan, tiho i nepokolebljivo.

Kada su nam rekli da je tumor porastao i da više ništa ne mogu učiniti osim pružiti palijativnu njegu, nismo mogli to prihvatiti kao kraj. Naša mama je još uvijek disala jednim plućnim krilom, još uvijek se držala, još uvijek se smiješila kroz bol.

Zbog toga što je zdravstveni sistem u Bosni veoma ograničen, preselili smo se u Istanbul u potrazi za nadom. I ovdje ona ima šansu da se bori. Ali, nažalost, došli smo do tačke kada više ne možemo nastaviti bez pomoći.

Do sada smo stigli sami, ali sada trebamo vas.
