Help our member after he was fired for speaking up

We need your help. A long-time member of Nobody Leaves Mid-Hudson was unjustly fired after speaking up for immigrant rights in the press.
This person has been a deeply loved member of our organization for years, advocating alongside us to make the Hudson Valley a better place for everyone. Recently, he willingly shared his experience of living undocumented in the United States for an article in a local paper. In the article, he also spoke about why he supports a fund to help workers who didn’t receive any relief during the COVID-19 pandemic and how such a fund would dramatically help his life and the lives of so many other people like him.
But after the story was published, he and his wife — who were both employed at the same workplace — were immediately fired from their jobs.
This kind of unjust, retaliatory act from his employer is horrifying. He and his family were already struggling to get by before this. All he wanted to do was continue advocating for justice and let others who are going through the same thing know they aren’t alone. Now, he doesn't know how his family will make it through to the end of this month.
This member has always stood alongside us in our fight for a better world. Now, he needs all of us.
That’s why we want to raise $1,000 ASAP to make sure his family’s basic needs are taken care of while they recover from this tragedy.
100% of donations will go directly to this member and his family so they can pay for basic expenses like rent, food, utilities, etc.
Note: Our member prefers to remain anonymous to protect his family from further retaliation.
