In Memory of Alex – Cycling from Winchester RFC to Barnstaple RFC - 14 August
Hi everyone,
We’re a group of friends and rugby lads raising funds in memory of our mate Alex, who tragically passed away in an accident nine years ago. Alex was one of a kind – full of life, energy, and laughter – and he’s still very much missed by all of us.
The last time we were with Alex was on a rugby tour in Barnstaple, a trip that holds powerful memories for us. To honour him, we’re taking on a challenge that combines friendship, grit, and a lot of pedalling – cycling from Winchester RFC to Barnstaple RFC, which is over 150 miles.
We’re doing this to raise money for NSPCC, a cause that means a lot to us and reflects the kind of person Alex was – someone who always looked out for others. The funds raised will go directly to support children and preventing abuse. The work they do is vital – giving vulnerable young people a voice, providing support to families, and working to keep children safe across the UK.
This ride isn’t just about the miles – it’s about remembering Alex in a way he would have loved, while doing something meaningful in his name.
Any donation, big or small, will help us reach our goal and make a difference. Thank you for your support – it means the world.
Ride for Alex.
