Dear Neighbors,
You know them, you love them, they feed you, clear your plate and share a friendly smile after a hard day. No, they're not your mother, they are the dedicated, kind, hard-working staff at The Lowbrow in South Minneapolis.
As of March 16, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and the Minnesota Department of Health recommended restaurants and bars close for dine-in service through 5 p.m. on March 27 in order to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Heather and Jodi have already put into action new business operations to accommodate parking-lot pick-up orders (permitted under current recommendations). So, finish reading this and then go order your pick-up burger or pasta: [phone redacted]!
However, even more important to Heather and Jodi, is the well-being of their staff and employee family.
The unfolding COVID-19 health and economic emergency is now hitting our local communities, and it is time to rally around the small-business that isn't just a restaurant, but instead an extended kitchen table in each of our homes, with people we love.
Please join me, and other neighborhood regulars and donate to the Lowbrow Employee COVID-19 Disaster and Emergency Fund. The stretch goal is $12,000, to ensure each staff member has a small amount of reassurance during these unsettling economic times.
Please give rapidly and generously to help meet the immediate and near-term needs of our Lowbrow family. Just as you trust Heather and Jodi to pay their staff with dignified wages and benefits, they will equitably distribute funds raised to support all of their staff based on their number of "normal" shifts.
