Rest In Peace Dearest Emily Lawes

Donation protected
With a heavy heart we are writing this on behalf of Mandy and Nick’s loving daughter Emily. On 4th July our daughter Emily on 27 years of age had just an asthma attack which then escalated into a cardiac arrest, we have been told it was at least 10 mins that her brain went without oxygen. She was rushed to hospital where she starting to fit, she was then transferred to Lewisham ICU.

Her family were told the worst and that she may never regain full consciousness. Emily surprised them by breathing on her own after a few days but sadly the fits then started again. Here she spent 4 weeks and is now in HDU. Emily is improving, albeit very slowly, she now requires epilepsy drugs amongst others. Emily does open her eyes but she is unable to see/recognise anything or anyone, we do know that she can hear.

Emily has a global Hypoxic Brain Injury, and she has now been referred to a Neuro Royal Hospital. We are waiting to see if they will accept her as this is a place that can hopefully rehabilitate her but , however they cannot tell us a the level of consciousness that she will get back to. Neither the family or friends have given up hope as she has been surprising us all of her 27 years.

We will keep posting updates, but as most of you know Emily has a beautiful daughter who is now currently without her mummy. Emily’s family, daughter and friends would really appreciate any donations, big or small, any amount will really help aid her recovery and the ongoing treatments that Emily will require in the future.
