Our Loved Shai'India Homecoming

Donation protected
***Thank you so much for your outpouring of love and support for our beloved Shai'India.  We have met the initial goal for the funeral.  All continued donations will be used towards hiring an attorney to support a foundation in her name and for our ongoing work to support our family and loved ones through this time.

It is with deepest sorrow we are announcing the passing of our daughter Shai'India.  She lost her young, beautiful, talented and treasured life on July 10, 2020.  Shai graduated from Parkrose high school last month, with so many plans in her bright future.  She touched the lives and hearts of all she met.  Family and friends, new and old gathered at her vigil Friday evening sharing the memories that will never be forgotten for us left here.   Shai enjoyed eating seafood, finding beautiful views and living her life to the fullest everyday.  Shai knew and loved God, and this alone allows us to accept Gods path for her and us.  Luke 23:43 And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”

It is not the order of life for a parent to bury our child.  We did not prepare for such horrific circumstances because it is all but unbelievable until today when we woke up to revisit the nightmare that had happened yesterday and that we had to live again today.  Today we found the perfect place to lay our baby to rest.  It is under a beautiful tree, perfectly groomed, with a unobstructed view of Portland, next to her beloved Uncle and Grandmother.

We are creating this gofundme page to help pay for Shai's Funeral and Burial.

Shai was in a domestic violence relationship that led to her murder.  It is through her memory that the family would like to begin a non-profit in her name.  The movement will be to empower and educate our youth, finding their voices and their strengths  and being a resource to assist any young person who is the victim or survivor of domestic abuse.  Any additional funds raised beyond funeral costs will go directly to this fund.

God Bless

A wife who loses a husband is called a widow.
A husband who loses a wife is called a widower.
A child who loses his parents is called an orphan.
There is no word for a parent who loses a child.
That’s how awful the loss is.
