Our little Lynn....
August 2017 ... we got the news that we never wanted to hear again... another “Smith” had cancer. Almost 2 years to the date that our brother Doug was diagnosed with cancer, his favorite little sister was also diagnosed. This wasn’t going to stop her... She has 2 beautiful lil girls she has to fight for.... and so the fight began. Six months of chemo.... every couple weeks feeling so sleepy that she felt she was missing out on important moments with her babes. Thankfully she has her amazing husband Todd right by her side..... every appt.... every chemo. He hasn’t missed a beat. And he began working extra to make sure their family had everything they needed.
January 2018: her last dose of chemo and her final scan. We got the good news!! She was in remission. Amazing!! Our lil warrior had done it!!!
April 2018: her follow up scan of 3 months being “cancer free” she had a lymph node come back glowing.... which is never good on a pet scan. So back to Roswell for more tests, more scans, another biopsy. And unfortunately, more bad news. Her lymphoma was back. This time her treatments are going to be that much stronger and aggressive....she will have 3 rounds of chemo where she will be admitted and stay at Roswell for 3 days each round and after those are complete, she will be having a bone marrow transplant where she will be put in quarantine basically away from all germs ..... that being said she will be away from those babes of hers for 2-6 weeks, depending how her body accepts it. Deflating... exhausting... but she put her lil fighting hat back on and she’s back at it. Just weeks before she was going to go back to work she has to take more time off (Her disability thru work was only good for the first 6 months).
They have been without a second income since January and all the running Todd will be doing back and forth to the hospital for treatments and him missing work as well.... I am asking all the wonderful people in our lives to help our little Lynn and her beautiful family get ahead a lil bit so they don’t have the stress of money and medical bills on top of the stress of her being sick. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping out my lil sis and her family ❤️ #smithtough
