Hi, I’m Milli — a first-time mummy to our beautiful, brave little girl, Roxy.

Roxy was born with a rare and complex condition called OEIS complex. OEIS stands for Omphalocele, Exstrophy, Imperforate anus and Spinal defects. In simple terms, it means Roxy was born with multiple serious abnormalities affecting her abdominal organs, bladder, bowel and spine. From the very beginning, her life has required extraordinary strength — and many surgeries.

At just three weeks old, Roxy underwent her first major operation. As part of that surgery, doctors formed a stoma. Roxy has an ileostomy, which means part of her small intestine is brought to the surface of her tummy to allow waste to leave her body into a bag. Because this bypasses the large intestine — where fluid is usually absorbed — babies like Roxy are already at higher risk of dehydration.

Recently, Roxy has contracted what doctors believe to be a stomach bug. For most people, this would be unpleasant but manageable. For Roxy, it has been incredibly serious. This is the reason we started this page, we now want to spread this message further.

We are here because we understand, first-hand, just how overwhelming and life-changing it can be to care for a child with complex medical needs. Nothing prepares you for the emotional, physical, and financial challenges that come with spending weeks — and sometimes months — living in hospital rooms, waiting areas, and intensive care units. It is a world that many families never expect to enter, yet once you are there, your entire life shifts around your child’s survival and wellbeing.

Our beautiful daughter, Roxy, has already shown more strength than we ever thought possible. Her journey began with her arriving prematurely, followed by six long weeks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Those weeks were filled with fear, hope, exhaustion, and gratitude for the incredible medical teams who cared for her.

Through this experience, we have learned how vital support truly is. When you are living day by day in a hospital, finances quickly become another heavy burden. Travel costs, parking, accommodation, time off work, specialist equipment, and everyday living expenses all add up. No family should have to choose between being by their child’s bedside and staying financially afloat. Something we have learned is sadly a situation we are in during each admission.

That is why we are not only asking for support — we are building something bigger.

We want to ensure that other families feel the same love, care, and practical support that has carried us through our darkest days.
