Shaving hair to help friends with medical costs
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Erin and I’m fundraising for two of my life long friends who are both facing serious illness.
Both are currently not working. I can’t share many details as one of these brave people have kept this very private. But as many of my dear friends know, Holly is currently in the hospital receiving chemo and had to shave her hair this past week. I decided I would like to provide any support possible to these amazing, kind and generous people. No words are needed about Holly…..if you know her, you know she is a top notch human who excels at caring for others as a nurse. Our other friend is just as amazing and definitely takes care of others, even when she’s not feeling well. She’s an inspiration and has made me realize I have so much to be grateful for.
At first I just wanted to shave my hair to show Holly support. Then I figured it was a great way to attempt to raise some funds for both my friends, to help in the expenses related to becoming sick, without a pay cheque. Once I reach the initial goal of $500, I will shave the remainder of my hair, and would love to reach $1000. We are all facing hard time right now in our new economy, but I hope you can find just a couple of dollars to donate to our friends who really need you right now…..even if they don’t say it.
I had some good people step up and help me after a car accident years ago, and without them I may have lost my house. Now it’s my turn to do the same goodness that’s been done for me before. It truly takes a community and I am counting on my Kirkton, Woodham, St. Mary’s community to prove it does take a village and we absolutely will take care of those we love. Thank you for any amount you can give, it could make the difference between making a mortgage payment or choosing food. I love you all, thank you for supporting our dear friends the way you would want to be supported during such a scary time as fighting for your life.
