My name is Ariana Rios, on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023, I received one of the worst phone calls of my life. My brother, Adam A. Findley, fell ill Thursday night and the talk of a doctor or ER would have sent him into orbit. Throughout the day he assured his e-girlfriend that he was feeling better and it will soon pass

Adam was in Tijuana, Mexico when he passed away. The news about his passing is a complete shock and devastation to those that knew and loved Adam. Unfortunately, the cost to have him transported to Chicago was too expensive and the family had to make the tough decision of having his memorial service in Tijuana, Mexico. It is one of the toughest decisions we had to make because we know Adam had so many friends and family that would have wanted to be there.

If you had the opportunity to have met Adam you would agree that there was no one like him. He was a respectful, loving, caring, nurturing, free-spirited, human being. He was a son, a father, a brother, an uncle, a mentor, a lover, and a friend. He is the epitome of, “He lights up a room when he walks in!” His presence was reason enough for people to approach him and compliment him on his look, his style, his hat, his smile, just anything he did or wore had you in awe and some people couldn’t resist not knowing who that handsome man was.

Adam moved to San Diego to be closer to his ex-wife Bertha, daughter Alexandra and her 2 brothers, Luis and Andres, whom he saw as his boys because Adam knew that it takes a village to raise a family. Adam made a beautiful life for him and his family in San Diego traveling back and forth to Tijuana to always make sure his family was taken care of. He had big plans for his future and to come to Chicago this Father’s Day and back again in July for his nieces Quinceañera. If he was in your home town he would call you and say, “I’ll be in town and I want to spend a whole day with you before I go back home.” He always made time for the people he loved and he would give you the shoes on his feet if he knew you needed them. To us, there is no one like Adam.

We want to give Adam the memorial he deserves, honor his memory and say our last goodbyes. We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Adam's funeral which is on Thursday, June 8th, 2023 in Tijuana, Mexico. Our goal is to give him the send-off he deserves in Mexico and Chicago. We plan on having 2 celebrations of Adam’s life and anything will help. My brother was a, live in the now and not worry about the future kind of person and he did not have life insurance.

Although he served our country in the US NAVY and is a Veteran, they aren’t covering any expenses his VA benefits end in July because he did not accumulate enough time. Bertha and Alexandra are working hard to possibly access his accounts but have not been able to. We’re asking you to please help us in giving Adam the goodbye he deserves. Anything you can donate will be tremendously appreciated and if you can’t donate money then donate your time like he would for you and come say your last goodbye in Chicago when I bring him home.

We are doing this for him, his family and friends that truly loved him and knew him. Please keep Adam and our family in your thought and prayers, send us your good vibes and love.

As we sit here waiting to board the plane I’m in awe to see all the love you have shown us. We are beyond grateful.

We want to thank you for all of the love and support that you have shown us through these difficult times. We are sol close to the goal and wether we reach it or not we will have a memorial service in his home town. We hope those that love and cared for Adam will be there. We are expected to receive his ashes tomorrow afternoon and fly him home this week.
