Our Izabella <3 Heart Hero

Last April, I Katarzyna Rosolowska and my Husband Rafal were ecstatic to find out we are pregnant again! Big sister Karolinka has been praying for a sibling forever August 29, 2016 will be a day I will never forget. It was that day that my life changed forever. During a routine ultrasound it was discovered that my tinny, precious Izabella has a heart defect. We were told that she has a condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome. On this day I realized that being strong mom for Izabella is the only choice I have! Thanks to my faith, my dearest family and closest friends I knew I was not alone! In the mist of everything that I felt that day I realized how blessed I am!!!
We were given options. Right away, I knew that the only option that we choose is to fight for our child's life! I know this will not be an easy journey! Our family will not be defined by this congenital heart defect!
This journey has not been easy. At nearly two months of age my baby girl has just now met her birth weight. Her heart and her lungs are working hard to heal and recover post surgery which is burning lots of calories. As a mom, I wish I could take all the struggles and hardships away! I trust that this is temporary and things will get better. We are taking it one day at a time. In the mean time I will hold her hand at the doctor’s appointments as she smiles back at me. I am so proud of my sweet Izabella. She is a strong girl.
When I say live your life like there is no tomorrow I really mean it! Appreciate the little things! Don't take life for granted! This Saturday(03/11/17) evening my husband and I watched our beautiful two month old Izabella fight for her life like she never fought before! Around 9:45 in the evening I noticed on the monitor that her heart rate is dropping at very fast rate. My heart pounded I was so scared. Immediately I called the doctor who was sitting outside our ICU room. Next thing I know my daughter who I love so much was receiving CPR. Her heart stopped for 10 minutes. I can't even begin to express what I was feeling at that time. I have never hurt this much in my life. I have never felt so hopeless and lonely. I cried to God and begged him to give her back to us. I promised him that I will take care of her and I will love her and teach her to love him and all the people.
My prayers and screams were answered! Izabella is now stable but in critical condition. Her heart is failing and she needs another surgery!
Our biggest dream is the health of our daughters. Tomorrow(03/28/17) once again we trust that God will heal our Izabella. Her surgery will start tomorrow around noon. Today our warrior Izabella in spite of very difficult two weeks, is playing with her butterfly and smilling from time to time to reassure us that she is ready to fight !Our hearts rejoice because we see how brave, strong she is and ready to fight this battle. Our sweet baby is one of a kind ! We believe her journey is just beginning. She has changed us already. We are two different people. In spite of these difficult moments, and ocean of tears we are happier than ever before . We have each other for better or for worse. Family, making memories, living every day to the fullest is all that matters .
The doctor just came to give us an update ! Izabella is doing well. She is still on bypass machine as they do an echocardiogram to check if everything is good before the close.
I have been privileged to be Izabella’s Mom ❤ Watching her fight for her life has changed me ! Please once again keep Izabella in your prayers ! She means the world to us!! Our faith is strong ! God is in control. I believe our daughter has a mission in life. I am honored that She chose me to be her mommy. I know my heart will hurt many times and I will fear for her safety and well being ! All that does not matter as long as I get to watch her grow to become a beautiful person . For me every day is heart day and every day is a blessing ❤ I have seen miracles happen in front of me! I am so grateful for her life!
