Our IVF Journey to Baby Lewis

Hello Family & Friends,

As many of you already know, we have been struggling with infertility for over 6 years. There is so much more to our story that I would love to share with all of you.

Brandon and I meant in a wedding where we were paired together back in 2010. For me, I felt an instant connection! For Brandon that took a while longer :). We spent 2 days together for the wedding festivities and then he flew back to Texas. Now 10 years later we are married and have been wanting to have a baby together for several years now. Unfortunately in 2013 we experienced a miscarriage. We are not entirely sure what caused it but God always has a plan. After this we decided it was a good idea to under go some testing to make sure nothing serious was going on. This started our infertility journey!

We have been diagnosed with unexplained infertility but there are some factors that over the years we found out are contributing, such as low progesterone and all of my underlying health conditions. As many of you know I have Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN), Fibromyalgia, chronic migraines and many other things over the years. In 2015, I had to undergo major brain surgery to help with my TN. Recovery was a process and leading up to that surgery I was on many different medications that affected my body in not the best way. Over the last few years we have went through 8 Intrauterine Insemination treatments (IUI) and most recently our first cycle of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). We saved up what we could and l made several calls to our insurance company to make sure we had everything sorted out prior to scheduling IVF. We were beyond excited to get the opportunity to try IVF. We ended up with 7 healthy embryos, 2 which we transferred on June 5, 2020 and the other 5 we froze. Unfortunately, the procedure did not work. Needless to say it was pretty devastating and it still is. A couple weeks after we found out our insurance is not covering what they said they were going to cover. This of course left us feeling a little more defeated. We worked so hard to get to this point and it was all falling into place.

The plan was to try again since we have 5 frozen and the cost would be a little less. With the unexpected costs from the last IVF procedure it has left us in a lot of debt that we did not plan for and put our future plans on hold. We are not ones to ask for help, but time is not on our side and we would love to have children together. We are blessed with my 2 beautiful children that are not biologically Brandon's but they are still very much his children too and we know that God has a plan for us, even though I struggle with not knowing what that is sometimes. I know 2020 has been difficult for everyone so please do not feel any pressure. If you cannot donate, we would appreciate prayers and all the positivity as this has been quite the hard journey already. We appreciate all the support and love you all so much. Thank you for taking the time to listen to our story.
