Michael "Mikey" Blash, our longtime, beloved surgery technician, urgently needs a helping hand from his friends and colleagues.

Over the last several weeks, he has had his car stolen, had an accident at work that broke his foot, and has been diagnosed with late-stage prostate cancer.

When I last saw Mikey, the exuberant man I have known for years was barely recognizable.
He has lost a significant amount of weight and is in constant pain.

As you would expect, his pain is both physical and spiritual.

During hospitalization Mikey is worried for the upcoming hardship he and his family will face. 

He can no longer work and as a single father, constantly worries about providing a more secure future for his two teenagers, Nation (16) and Matte (14).  During this time his children will have to continue their daily lives without his support both physically and financially.

In addition, continued treatments and tests are also to be anticipated, leading to even more financial burden.

Mikey is also heartsick about his inability to continue his passion of serving the houseless in local soup kitchens and connecting high schoolers with social justice opportunities throughout the Bay Area.
