Update: The support you guys have been showing her means so much. I don’t think she realized how much she is loved and that the community would be there for her when she is the one in need.
My mother saw her surgeon yesterday. She had the staples taken out and has been directed to slowly start bending her knee. Found out that her bone was crushed into 6 pieces hence the need for the cadaver bone!
Thank you so much
Update: First surgery went well and she now has a donor bone secured with a plate to repair her tibia.
My mother has a long recovery ahead with multiple surgeries to reattach and replace her knee that was severely injured while at the dog park Wednesday. She is in the South Health Campus now.
We all know the charitable, Beth Fitzpatrick.
Many have experienced her natural and unrequested hunger to improve our community with ZERO expectation of personal gain.
Over decades of providing homecare for the elderly, Emergency Medicine with the Vulcan Ambulance and medical training in the county of Vulcan, the beautiful creation of Maisey’s Place… for boarding dogs, but also it performed as a rescue and adoption kennel. Always making sure that both the animals and families were considered.
Uhh. take a breath!
I was in awe when she stepped up during the flood and took care of family pets to relieve some weight for families in need.
For free.
Not to mention, while taking care of their veterinary costs she was also struggling to make her own ends meet. Telling no one of these difficulties.
She has began introducing safe havens/programs/education/skilled professionals for the At Risk or vulnerable youth that have been overlooked. This has been expanded to multiple towns within our county and her support is growing.
Additionally she has academically upgraded for Addictions Counselling and has been facilitating a weekly SMART program as well!
My mother is sefishly selfless!
I am witness to her sacrifice.
With the best intentions, she has jumped in to fill niches that many don’t realize need to be filled. Positively enough, we will continue to benefit from her profound experience with trauma and the lack of the exact supports that she has been working to implement.
This is going to be a long recovery with multiple surgeries. Compiled with financial difficulties and other untreated health set backs this is devastating.
The community needs her back and she needs our help. If you can donate anything or even just share this it will be amazing for her to see the support.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and supporting my hero.
