On October 23rd 2017 Christopher Hosea Cintron was welcomed into this world by his parents Denise and Alfredo and his big brother Joseph. We were raising a healthy and happy baby boy. At 8 months old he was diagnosed with Hypotonia, this means low tone muscle through out his body.
A month after his first birthday he had his first of many Febrile Seizure. One day what we thought was a common cold, ended up being something very different. On March 17th 2019, after some X-rays and some tests the doctors diagnosed him with Dilated Cardiomyopathy and Severe Heart Failure. This basically means his heart is enlarged and the function of his heart is very poor.
After this day he's had many hospitalizations, one of them during the summer of this year where he went into cardiac arrest. He was resuscitated at bed side and immediately intubated.

At that time he was admitted at the hospital for a month and a half. A few months ahead after being sent home his health wasn’t the same due to his heart function. He got sick more often and lost a lot of weight. On December 17th he was admitted again at New York Presbyterian-Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital in Manhattan. He had a common virus that got complicated which also gave him pneumonia and some other infections. On December 20th he was officially enlisted on the UNOS transplant list.
On January 6, 2020 he had a major surgery to place the Jarvik 2000 in his left ventricle. The surgery was a success, to bridge him to his Heart Transplant. He remains admitted at the hospital at this moment and he will remain there until is time for surgery and recovery. There’s a long road ahead but we ask you all to keep us in your prayers. We appreciate all the love and support we have received from everyone.

We're setting up this Go-Fund me in an effort to aid Alfredo & Denise financially in this trying time. Christopher's current condition requires 24-hour care now, until he receives a new heart, which doesn't guarantee immediate release from the hospital. Furthermore it will actually mean months of rehabilitation afterward. That being said, Alfredo & Denise have been practically living in the hospital since Dec 17th. Due to this hectic schedule Alfredo has not able to work, as his company cannot work out a reasonable schedule for him at this time. Denise is currently on a modified work schedule, and only permitted a max cap of 10-hours per work week. This is a meager wage and it is becoming increasingly difficult for them to make simple ends meet. Which is further complicated with the daily needs of their first born 5 year old son Joseph who is currently in kindergarten. We're asking you to sincerely consider helping them in this very hard time. Any help is greatly appreciated, and we know that God will bless you for sowing into their family!
