Our Goodbyes to Joel
Due to an unexpected technical issue from our previous fundraising page, we sadly had to create this new one. The previous fundraising page has locked us out and is no longer reachable. But note that we have fully received all your donations made through the previous page ($1,935) and have counted them toward our overall goal here. Thank you for your generosity! Please check the Updates section below for the details on what has happened with the original page and the list of donations from the previous page. Note: No information has been leaked related to your method of payment. The error was solely due to the length of the updated textual contents which created an internal error and broke our page.
Friends, family, and loved ones, we are raising funds to support the family of Joel Randrianasolomamonjy for the funeral and repatriation of remains expenses, and help them recover from the loss of a beloved son, brother, and friend.
Joel spent his childhood in Madagascar, was a wonderful friend to many, and a brilliant scholar to his preceptors. In 2008, he was selected for a competitive government scholarship right out of high school to attend Lipscomb University in the United States. At Lipscomb, he continued to excel in his studies, worked tirelessly to support his family back home, and made easy friends with his fellow students from all across the world. After graduating, he went on to work for Yates Services, an affiliate company of Nissan Motor Co. for many years and steadfastly took care of his family in Madagascar.
In 2008, his whole family proudly and happily saw him off to embark on this new journey. Although it meant a lengthy separation from his loved ones, Joel was determined to make them proud - and boy, did he! Sadly, this would also be the last time they would ever see him in person and alive. About thirteen years later, Joel suddenly left this world earlier this week, alone and without his family.
Throughout these years, Joel also lost his father, and while he couldn’t be home for his family, he continued to provide for his mother and siblings from afar. At this enormously difficult time, his mother, younger brothers and sisters, and friends kindly request any support to bring their son, sibling, and friend back home one last time. His mother’s greatest wish is to see her beloved son one last time and say goodbye.
With your generous donations, we will be able to assist his family to bring him home. As his family and friends, this is the last gift of kindness we can bestow upon him. We appreciate any assistance you will be able to provide.
