Last week we had a scan that told us our baby's stomach was in her chest. We were given a referral to the fetal medicine team who later found that her stomach, liver and bowel were growing in the left side of her chest due to a congenital diaphragmatic hernia, pushing her heart into the right chest cavity. Leaving no room for her lungs to develop.

Despite there being surgeries to move her organs into place We were told her hernia was so severe that her lungs were not developed and she would be unable to take her first breath.

In the space of 5 days our entire world had fallen apart and we were left with only the decision of how our precious little girl would pass.

Our beautiful baby girl Orla was born sleeping on 27/04/24 and our little family are overcome with grief.

Because of the fast pace which everything happened as well as having my two year old, Arabella along with a household that still needs running we’ve had no time to prepare for the costs that come with losing a loved one and would appreciate any donation big or small to help towards the cost of the headstone and giving our baby girl the funeral she deserves.

As her mother I will never plan a birthday party or celebrate her milestones and I would like for this day to be as special as possible. Any proceeds left over will be donated to CDHuk, a charity dedicated to children and families with life after a congenital diaphragmatic hernia diagnosis xxx
