OUR FUTURE IS IN OUR HANDS

ATID Fund, a nonprofit organization that helps struggling single parents with their child’s education. Over the past 8 years, we have provided financial assistance to over 300 families. We have also provided children the opportunity to participate in enriching after-school activities like music lessons, chess, choirs, mathematics clubs, among many others. ATID Fund is looking to raise a total of $50,000 this year to provide more scholarships and help create additional after-school programs.

Our mission is simple- we are trying to provide single parents with the help they need to provide for their child’s Jewish education and alleviate the hardships the family faces. We all know how difficult it is for a couple to generate enough income to pay for their child’s education. This hardship is only exacerbated if a family is run by a single parent, who has to juggle one or more jobs to provide for food, clothing, rent and other bills, while supervising a child. The single parent may not have the resources available to make sure the child is doing well in school. This hardship is what ATID Fund strives to alleviate by providing single family households the funding for school supplies, tuition and after-school programs.

Although we have been successful in our mission over the years, our limited funding has not matched the growing number of applications we have been receiving. As of now, ATID fund can only support 35 to 50 parents a year. Additionally, we are only providing assistance to families in the borough of Queens in New York City. With additional resources, we not only plan to provide for more families, but also hope to establish our presence in all boroughs .
