The boys take on 'RunHeaton'
Here we have 7 friends who will be participating in 'RunHeaton' - 8th May to raise money for 'Shout 85258'.
Shout are a free 24/7 confidential text support service here in the UK, powered by a team of highly trained volunteers who have had more than 800,000 conversations with those in need of immediate support.
Between us we will be running various distances based on achievable fitness goals by the time the event comes around in May.
Participating in the 10k will be:
Dom
Sam
Hayden
Kelsey
Participating in the Half Marathon:
Josh
Reece
Pete
Shout was brought to our attention when a member of the group, Josh, highlighted the great work they have done for his little sister and how much appreciation she had for the services they provided her during a time she needed it the most when going through her own ongoing battle with mental health.
We all came into the new year expressing how much we wanted to push ourselves physically and raise money for a cause that isn't just personal to Josh but for everyone in the current climate we live in. Too many people suffer in silence, finding it difficult speaking to close friends/family. The confidential nature of Shout is what really helped Josh's sister among many others express their emotions and overcome that first hurdle - speaking out! Just £10 can help someone in distress access an hour of mental health support, £25 can fund a clinician to provide expert supervision of conversations on Shouts digital mental health platform and £250 can train a volunteer to take life saving conversations with people needing immediate support.
Please follow us on our fundraising journey, we'd appreciate all the support we can get to give us that extra push come race day :)
Thank you!
