Our Friendship has no frontiers, let's help Beirut

We are Nicole and Nadine, we met over 30 years ago in the garden of our building block in the Paris suburbs.

My Irish mum had married a French man and Nadine's parents had fled the war in Lebanon.

We became great friends immediately and remained close ever since.

Nadine and her family are back living in Beirut, and when I heard about the blasts on August 4th, I  needed to know straight away that she was safe. 

As a human being, as a friend, I cannot just be watching from Paris and not do anything...


Which is why we've jointly decided to set up this crowdfunding page.  

All your donations will be sent to Beit El Baraka, an NGO that aims to set up an emergency home rehabilitation program and repair as many homes as possible in the devastated areas around the Beirut harbour, and also to provide food and medicine. Beit El Baraka’s founder, Maya Ibrahimchah, was among the NGOs representatives to have met with President Macron during his last visit to Lebanon on August 6th.  


We thank you all for reading us, spreading the word and helping Beirut in any way possible.

Comment et pourquoi nous faisons ce crowdfunding: 

Pour le peuple de Beyrouth qui, en ce moment précieux, lutte grandement.

Nous sommes Nicole et Nadine, nous nous sommes rencontrés il y a plus de 30 ans dans le jardin de notre immeuble en banlieue parisienne.

Ma mère Irlandaise avait épousé un Français et les parents de Nadine avaient fui la guerre au Liban.

Nous sommes tout de suite devenues les meilleures amies du monde et nous le sommes toujours.

Nadine et sa famille sont de retour depuis plusieurs années à Beyrouth, et quand j’ai entendu parler des explosions le 4 août dernier, j’ai eu besoin de m’assurer que Nadine était en sécurité. Je ne peux pas imaginer ce qu’elle, sa famille et les gens de Beyrouth vivent en ce moment.

En tant qu’être humain, en tant qu’amie, je ne peux pas juste regarder de chez moi à Paris ce qui se passe là-bas.

C’est pourquoi nous avons décidé conjointement d’aider autant que possible, en mettant en place un crowdfunding.

Tous vos dons seront envoyés à Beit el Baraka, une ONG à but non lucratif établie à Beyrouth en 2018, dont la mission actuelle est de venir en aide aux victimes mettant en place un plan de réhabilitation des logements atteints ainsi que de fournir nourriture et médicaments. La fondatrice de Beit El Baraka, Maya Ibrahimchah, était parmis les ONG invitées à rencontrer le Président Macron lors de sa visite à Beyrouth le 6 Août.
