Our Friend Stan Gibson

Donation protected

Hi I am Mary Rae Veydt-Lynn, and with the assistance of Stan’s friend Gordy Woelper, ,we have started this go fund me for Stan Gibson.

Through the years, with the inception of Stanstock Annual Music Festival., Stan has raised over 300,00.00 for pediatric cancer patients, and the Wounded Warrior project. He has selflessly given his time, while being confined to a wheelchair with his own serious health issues.

Please feel free to visit the Stanstock.Org page for his story- and see how he has raised so much money for so many deserving people- TRULY AMAZING!!!

He is an beautiful man-full of love for others, who needs our help desperately. I grew up with Stan in Dundalk, and Gordy played music with him in his younger years. To meet him is to love him!

Stan had lived in a Mobile home park in Berlin, Md for 30 years, when a zoning ordinance by heartless Worcester county forced out all year round residents. Friends of Stan are building him a small accessible home, but that project has stalled due to zoning. Stan had sold the mobile home and the new graciously allowed him to stay until December 1.

He has no other choice but to move into a short term Residence Inn in Ocean city until his new home is completed in April. His options for housing were limited due his special needs. A confidential benefactor paid his December rent which is a total of 2298.00. The apartment has to accommodate his long term caregivers, as Stan also breathes with a trach , and needs constant care. He also had to say goodbye to his loving companion Cobbie the Cat, as the hotel does not allow pets.

As any pet owner know, this is crushing, especially after losing your home of 30 years. He is devastated.

We are asking for donations to this page, which will be sent directly to Courtney Blackford of Residence Inn in Ocean City, who after hearing his story, offered a discounted rate.

PLEASE HELP THIS SELFLESS MAN WHO HAS GIVEN SO MUCH BACK!!

IN STAN’S OWN WORDS-

As you all know this year has been a rollercoaster ride for me with plenty of ups and downs. Unfortunately more HUGE downs than ups. First, Worcester County presided in the legal battle forcing all Full Time residents to move out of WHITE HORSE PARK after living here 30+ years.(DOWN) I was able to find a buyer for my home and she allowed me to stay here RENT FREE (UP) until Dec. 1 when the County wants everyone out. (DOWN). I was able to purchase a lot to build a small house that is completely modified to meet ALL of my handicap needs. (UP) I have friends who own a construction company who stepped up to build my home at cost. (UP) CoBuilding my home has now resumed, but I have a place to live ONLY until December 1st - then the new owners take possession. .-Now for the really sad news. Deb is facing health issues (DOWN) that will prevent her from helping me anymore and she has moved out taking Cobby (DOWN) since I cannot take Cobby to the hotel where I will be staying until my house is finished (DOWN). As most of you know, Deb has been a HUGE part of my life for 10+ years and has taken wonderful care of me, even saving my life, literally, twice. To say I will miss her would be an understatement, but she cannot take care of me and focus on her own health. That would be selfish of me to even think she could. I now have two aides Evan and Gail. So I will end by saying I was blessed to have had Deb in my life .... She will always have a place in my heart. I love her dearly !!
