Rockin Fig

We are all talking about and remembering the friendship, the laughter, the bright light and love that Fig brought to all of us. This isn’t easy to write, but what we all know is that Fig would think this is so cool that we are all coming together to celebrate his life and legacy. As many of you know, Fig is a staple to the Huntington Beach community. He worked for KROQ for 25 years doing the surf report, and announced the US Open of Surfing for 20 years, with his unmistakable ‘surfer dude’ voice. He was inducted into the Walk of Fame and Hall of Fame on both sides of Main Street. He was a twenty time NSSA West Coast champion and a three time NSSA USA champion. He was a father, a friend and a wonderful human being.

Fig worked at Chuck Dent Surf Centers, and then went onto open his own shop on Main Street about 30 years ago.

For everything Fig has given to us, it is time to help and give back in his honor. We are asking for donations to cover the costs of Fig’s funeral expenses, along with keeping the shop going and to keep Fig’s legacy on Main Street forever, where he loved to be and will always belong.
