Our friend Matt needs help

I’m Yvette and I’m sending this out to friends and former coworkers of Matt Anderson. A few of us are familiar with his situation and have been helping the last few years, but he needs help in order to keep his apartment and health insurance. Sadly Matt was homeless for a couple of years. In September 2020 he was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer with a prognosis of 9-12 months and needed surgery. He was living in an 8x10 room with no windows and a shared bathroom at a transitional center. He was able to live with his exwife for a couple of months til he was able to work part time and get an apartment. He has been participating in some research trials, but still has to keep his medical insurance. He took early social security and works a few fours a week as he can at Home Depot. In October of 2021 he was hospitalized again (one of many) and the oncologist projected maybe another 4 months. Of course we are grateful he is beating the odds and you can imagine both the physical and emotional toll this has taken on him. I’m asking for contributions to pay his rent, which is now in arrears, and maintain his ACA healthcare so he can live in a clean environment with some measure of comfort until he needs hospice care. He’s reluctant to ask for help, but he has no funds. If you want to message me privately, please do. If you prefer to donate with a check or gift card, I will get those to him.
