My wonderful colleague Katherine Guzman needs our help. Katherine was diagnosed with Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis. Only a small percentage of those with endometriosis receive this frightening diagnosis. She experiences around the clock pain and is having difficulty even walking. Without the proper treatment, this type of endometriosis can migrate into her brain and eventually become fatal.

Katherine needs to obtain medical care and surgery from highly specialized physicians which her government funded insurance does not provide for. Her part time work hours make her ineligible for employer sponsored insurance. The goal of this fundraiser is to allow Katherine to purchase more comprehensive health insurance for one year, and to also cover any deductibles, co-pays and other related expenses so that she can receive the medical care and pain relief she so desperately needs.

Katherine is just 34 years old and is studying to be a nurse. While her condition prevents her from working full-time, she still has found the strength within herself to work part time at several local hospitals with children struggling with cancers and blood disorders – children whose days are brightened as soon as she walks into the room. Your donations will provide Katherine with the possibility of living a pain-free, long life – one that she hopes to dedicate to helping others.
