Hi everyone,
This is for my friend, Joy Stover and her family. All those that know Joy, know that she recently lost her husband of 40 years. For those of you that don’t know her but understand where she is now…they were high school sweethearts that came together to create a beautiful family and lasting relationships with many friends.
Joy dedicated a good portion of her working career as a Paraprofessional working to help students with special needs, ranging from elementary to high school. Andy worked at Sharptech which later became known as Kasco in Atlanta for awhile and he eventually found his way to Home Depot. These changes in careers had impacts on their finances and ultimately had them figuring out other methods to be frugal. They didn’t let this bother them though, always happy.
There was a time when Andy and Joy needed to cut some corners and unfortunately life insurance was one of them. It is always one of those things you just don’t think about when you don’t have to think of it. The past couple of years Andy and Joy discussed retirement and where they would like to go. I know I heard the beach brought up quite often and seemed to be the number one choice for them both.
They were trudging along like most people making dinner plans, having conversations about weekends, and life in general. It seems that everything was fine and then it wasn't, his passing was quick and unexpected. He did not pass away from Covid-19, but it kept his loved ones from visiting him in the hospital while he was still able to communicate. His family was only allowed to visit him on his last day when he was on life support. Covid-19 has caused so much pain, sorrow, and changed how we say hello and goodbye to our loved ones, it really is awful.
I want to help my friend Joy financially. I want her to be able to grieve the loss of her husband, confidant, and best friend without feeling the pressure and stress of financial burdens that are here now and will continue to be. I don't want her to have to sell her house, her car, or anything that upends everything that is left of what they had. I believe we can come together to help and support her through this. If you feel you would like to help her be able to move forward, have peace of mind and not worry how to make ends meet...please donate what you would like. Every bit is appreciated and will help with house notes, car payments, medical bills, and funeral expenses.
