Hi, my name is Oak and I've created this GoFundMe on behalf of my close friend Bennett Beaman who survived a devastating house fire this morning.

On December 1, our friend Bennett woke up to the heat and smell of a fire next door. While he was able to get out safely, the fire spread fast, engulfing his entire life in flames. Everything inside his home was completely destroyed.

Bennett is now left without a home, furniture, sentimental items, his computer and countless items he relies on for work. This also includes inventory and materials for his independent vintage shop which financially supports him and others.

If you know Bennett, you know he's the kind of guy that will drop anything to help a friend in need. He is caring, generous, and will go out of his way to support those around him, even complete strangers. He’s kind, loyal, and so uniquely Bennett— he’s one of one.

I have seen Bennett's generosity and compassion with my own eyes - repairing a ramp for his wheelchair bound neighbor, or donating clothes to those in need. Now it's our time to help Bennett and show him the love and support he deserves.

I know this is a tough time of year to ask for donations, but please donate anything you are able to. Even $5, $10, $20 is appreciated and will directly help Bennett rebuild his life from the ground up. If you're unable to donate, please please share this with your friends, family, and neighbors. I am so incredibly touched by your generosity, especially to those who have never met Bennett but are willing to help a fellow person in need. Bennett is shocked and overwhelmed that so many people would be willing to help him through this tragedy - he's not one to ask for help, but will do anything he can to help others.
