O Jardim da Aryel do Lagoa is a small sanctuary, but the need around us is enormous.

Every day, we provide safety, food, and medical care for over 300 cats, as well as dogs, goats, and even a donkey — all of them abandoned, injured, or unwanted. For these animals, our sanctuary is not just a refuge; it is their last chance.

The reality is stark.

Our food and veterinary bills are eye-watering, and like so many others, we have been hit incredibly hard by the cost of living crisis. Donations have slowed, not because people don’t care, but because fewer people are able to help — and we completely understand that.

Despite this, the animals still need feeding.

They still need medication, emergency vet care, neutering, and daily attention.

They still rely on us — and now, we are relying on you.
