My name is Tanya, and both my 11-year-old son and I are living with Retinitis Pigmentosa — a rare, inherited eye condition that causes progressive vision loss.
We don’t talk about it much, but every day, our world gets a little dimmer. My son is the bravest soul I know. Watching him grow, learn, and navigate a world that’s slowly becoming harder to see is both inspiring and heartbreaking.
That’s why I’ve decided to act.
In September 2026, I’m organizing a fundraising event in Plymouth to support Retina UK, a charity dedicated to research, support, and hope for people like us.
We hosted an event once before and raised an incredible £10,000 — but this time, I know we can do even more.
Your donation, big or small, will help fund critical research that could one day lead to a cure or a treatment to save sight for people like my son and so many others.
Thank you for being part of our story. For seeing us, even when we can’t always see clearly.
— With love,
Tanya & my little warrior
