Our Father's Wish: Home, Love, and Care

Donation protected
A little less than a month ago my family’s lives were changed significantly. My father went from a healthy 56 year old to becoming bed ridden and diagnosed with glioblastoma which is an extremely aggressive form of cancer in the brain.

He initially suffered a stroke which caused him to fall and have bleeding and swelling of the brain. Once he arrived at the ER they began running tests and trying to figure out what they could do. When they received the test results they were shocked that along with severe swelling of his brain they found a massive tumor. At that time he was life flighted to Memorial in Savannah and put in the Neuro ICU. They removed as much of the tumor as they possibly could and kept him in the Neuro ICU following the surgery. It took roughly two and half weeks of being stuck in the hospital until it was confirmed…..
brain cancer.

After almost 2 weeks in the hospital our father was finally able to be home and was admitted to hospice. It was a nerve wracking decision but his alone to make. He didn’t want to receive treatment and possibly be here for another year and be miserable he said he would prefer to be home and comfortable. With such an aggressive form of cancer he was given a time frame of anywhere of 2 weeks- 6 months to live. He has made his final wishes clear and he would like to be surrounded by those that he loves until the time comes for him to be laid to rest.

Unfortunately, the only life insurance policy my father has, does not cover cancer. Whether visiting him, bringing meals or goodies by, donating monetarily or writing letters of encouragement that we can read to him, having your children draw cards or write letters. Anything at this time is sincerely appreciated as we come together as a family to prepare to lay our father to rest in the days to follow. We love you all and ask for prayers of Gods mercy through this excruciating process.
