Kristine, our two kiddos Jax & Stella, and myself have been trying our best to navigate recent events on our own, and lately, it’s just become too overwhelming.

Coming up on 2 months ago, Kristine was very savagely attacked by one of our dogs out of nowhere. She sustained severe tissue and muscle damage to her leg, along with a crushed fibula. She had to undergo immediate emergency surgery that led to 4 days in the hospital, followed up by an ER visit the next day, peppered in with more ER visits due to complications.

During that time, we had to put our 8-year-old dog down because of the attack. We have been without our kids for weeks on end and are thankful we have had her parents to step in and take care of them while we navigate this. She was completely bedridden for the most part due to being unable to put weight on it, mixed with intense and ongoing pain. When she was finally able to get around, it was via wheelchair or crutches up until this last weekend, and that is still minimal walking.

Obviously, she has been unable to work throughout this, and I had to quit my second job to make sure she was taken care of and family was the focus. I’ve had to miss work throughout, not only to take care of her but because of my own new, serious health issues. Asking for help is not something we are good at, but it’s finally come to that point. Her medical bills are somewhere around 70k, and even if insurance covers a chunk, we are still looking at 6k minimum out of pocket. Any money donated would go towards medical bills and helping to lessen the loss in wages and help our family get back to an even ground.

We currently never have more than $100 in our bank account at any time after bills come out, and it’s just become too overwhelming. We know it’s hard for everyone right now, and we know the struggle is impacting everyone in its own ways, but anything helps.
