It was another beautiful sunny, California day. I was doing my usual house cleaning and baby feeding routine when i got a call from my husband, Carlos. I answered the phone and heard a sound of a deep breath and then a steady calm voice telling me not to freak out but that he had some news. He went on to tell me that Chef'd (the company that provided our main source of income) was closing down and that it was his last hour of working there.He then told me he needed to go and we ended the phone conversation.
When i first heard this news i felt a jump in my stomach and thoughts started to flood my brain. At that moment, i decided to take a deep breath and look beyond the frantic thoughts. I immediately felt that this was a beautiful opportunity. This was a time to jump, take a risk, and fly to the life of our dreams. It was now time to do what we love and do it well. I was full of joy and excitement on what was to come. I texted Carlos right away and told him, "We got this Pa! This is a blessing! This is our next step! I am looking forward to what is coming next."
Later that evening when he got home, after sharing some goodbyes with his now ex-coworkers, he told me that those texts helped him feel better about everything. We know that this is how it works sometimes. Sometimes, things have to fall apart in order to create something new, something better. One of those good ol' universal laws blatantly displaying themselves in our lives once again.
So, now what? Well, we are starting a business. A business that will help elevate food for the average consumer. A business that will accentuate and help support other creatives and entrepreneurs. A business that will inspire others through beautiful artistic expression using food and ambiance as the medium. A business that will highlight the medicinal properties in food. A business that will bring us back to our roots in a modern way. A business that will support small, local, organic farms as much as possible. A business that wants to feed your body and soul.
In other words, we will be consulting for other culinary based companies and creating pop up dinner experiences and events of our own. We are looking forward to making our mark in the culinary world and helping fellow creatives and business owners to thrive and flourish.
We are raising funds for the following.
~Sectional Curtain
~ Street Food Cart
~ Smoker
~ Other Kitchen Equipment
~ Food for R&D
~ Business Cards and other business supplies
~ Funds to get us by while we get this up and running
