As many of you know Danielle Parker was in an accident this morning. She started her day off just like any other day. Getting the kids ready and dropping them off at school then off to check on her chickens. She was headed to town to pick up a few things when she took her eyes off the road for to long. Like a lot of us do. As she looked back to the road she did everything to not hit the back of the slowing semi. Swerving was her only option. She hit the nearly stopped semi at 70mph. Deploying the airbags and sending her body into the dash. I received 2 missed calls from her phone and called right back to be met with a strangers voice telling me Danielle had been in an accident. My heart sank. My first thought was she was gone. The voice told me she was out of the car an she was ok. I rushed to the side of the highway to be with her. The wreckage I came upon was horrifying. A mangled and screams of pain. Danielle was being held while paramedics worked on her to dull the pain. Barely touching her leg in comfort only revealed the excruciating pain she was in. I watched helplessly as the paramedics put her on a stretcher and into the ambulance. I followed them to the hospital where they ran a ct scan. Thankfully she was unharmed internally. They found that when she hit the dash with her knee it shoved her femur into her hip dislocating it and fracturing her pelvis. She has been through one surgery to relocate her hip and put a pin in her knee to hang weight on to pull the pressure off her hip. She has another surgery tomorrow to fix the hip.
Anyone who knows Danielle knows that she is a strong kindhearted woman who will do anything for anyone especially her kids. Neither of us like to ask for help but we need the help during these coming months of her recovery. Any kind of help anyone can give us would be more than appreciated. We will be needing help with the kids because I can’t afford to miss hours of work without her income. We will be having to pay out of pocket for a lot of the medical expenses. We also have our food bill and our monthly bills. Unfortunately we won’t have the funds to cover all of these expenses. We also don’t have the funds to replace the one vehicle we have that fits our entire family. So we’re asking our friends and family for your help during these difficult times for help. Whether it be rides to school, prayer, food or money to help with the road we’re going down. Anything will help us in the near future. Thank you all for caring.
