I am Paulett Hoffstead and I am a Jamaican living in Canada with my immediate and extended families living in Lacovia District, St Elizabeth Jamaica. My family members are severely impacted by hurricane Melissa which hit the island on October 28, 2025 and the damage is devastating. Hurricane Melissa is the category 5 storm which ripped through Jamaica with winds travelling at 185 mph.(appx) In its aftermath, families across Jamaica are left struggling to rebuild their lives. Our humble, hardworking family lost everything! Our childhood home, all belongings, and even our sense of security. Multiple homes within our family were severely damaged and our community experienced extreme flooding. Roofs were destroyed, walls collapsed, and all possessions were destroyed. Despite the resilience we have, the road to recovery is overwhelming, and very difficult especially with limited financial resources and high building costs. We are raising funds to help our family rebuild their homes and restore stability. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward rebuilding and repairing the damaged homes i.e. roofing, walls, flooring etc and replacing critical items such as furniture, bedding, and some appliances. They will also be able to have warm food, clothing, and medical care . Your generosity will make a real difference in providing safety and hope to our family who just want to rebuild and move forward.
Please consider donating and sharing this campaign with your friends and family and together, we can recover from the devastation of Hurricane Melissa and rebuild our lives with dignity.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support.
