Hi everyone. This is one of the hardest things for me to do, asking people for help financially, but our situation has deemed it necessary to reach out and hope.
My name is Alicia. I am married to an incredible human being, Chris, Yongsik, Christopher!
On July 3rd, he suffered an accident that has left him in a coma. I’m hopeful he will come out of it. Only time will tell. On July 4th, I spoke with my father and instructed him to go to the hospital as he was bleeding to death from a GI bleed. Both are still hospitalized at this time. One is fighting for life in the ICU on a ventilator and sedation while we run tests to rule out brain injury, and the other is getting multiple blood transfusions, hoping his body will hold on to it.
I cannot bring myself to work with my state of mind. I’m a registered nurse at an oncology clinic, and those patients deserve people taking care of them who are of sound mind. I’ll be the first to admit, my mind is not stable at this time. I do not have PTO with my position and current wages.
Prior to this accident, Chris and I took in two girls to foster until they turn 18, who needed a soft spot to land. They are my second oldest son’s biological sisters from his dad's side, bringing our total children together to 8. Thankfully, the kids are older, ages 13-25, and are working together to get through this time while I spend my days with my husband.
Chris had just stocked the house with $1000 of food, so they are well supplied there. I need help with other basics as we live paycheck to paycheck. Mortgage, insurance, power, etc. I’m hoping to raise enough to cover 1-2 months at least so I can focus on keeping my family together and getting through this incredibly stressful and uncertain time. Medical bills I haven’t even thought about but they will come later. If we can get through this period, I can cover the medical bills when I return to work. Anything helps and is appreciated.
This is the scariest, hardest, and most intense time of my life. I need help. I’m putting aside my “I can do it” attitude and humbling myself to ask. Thank you for your consideration. Prayers are needed, wanted, and welcomed above all else.
