Ruby & Ollie's is a specialised Outside School Hours Care Service whereby we provide care and support to young people with differing abilities, from low to complex needs. We provide Centre Based, Community and In Home Supports, to meet the ever evolving needs of the child and family.
The aim of this Crowd Funding campaign is to seek funding support to purchase a wheelchair accessible people mover VAN, to reach more families by bringing the children into the centre and enabling also the children to get out and explore and become more involved with community events and social participation- just like any child should have the opportunity to do so.
On a personal note, I am a mother of two daughters, Sophie and Ruby. Ruby lives with a life limiting and complex disability which has resulted in her being non-verbal, non-mobile, fed via gastrostomy tube, regular suctioning, seizures, hospitalisation and pretty much 24/7 care is required. Ruby is an angel on earth and has graced my life to give me the strength to build upon a vision to provide more for other children and families sharing similar turbulent times as our family.
For the past 6 years I have been dedicated and committed to provide a place of belonging, nurture, fun and support for many young people living with a disability, as well as providing support and programs for the parents, caregivers and siblings. I have dedicated the experience and knowledge I’ve gained through various hospital appointments, therapy visits, schooling challenges, medical navigation, negative prognoses, sleepless nights and some of the hardest decisions and times I’ve ever had to face. Something most of our families are living with daily.
I now am asking for YOUR SUPPORT, to share and shout out about the wonderful work our team is bringing to families of the Redlands, and we hope will only spread state wide and who knows, perhaps interstate
Our Vision, is to see every child, no matter their diagnosis or prognosis to have access to a supportive, nurturing and empathetic service.
