Our Dog Darth
I am a mother to a 13 year old only child and a 5 year old Jack Russell dog "Darth".
They have been growing together for 5 years and Darth is my son's best friend, especially during this difficult time of my divorce.
I'm single mother without child support for more than a year, dealing with a divorce.
The trial date was postponed because of the corona virus.
at the same time I'm trying to give my son and our dog everything I can by myself.
We get food stamps and health insurance from the country.
All these years we gave our dog the best treatment we could, now we can’t pay for Darth's expenses.
a few months ago we started to see that our dog's behavior has changed, he suddenly got more quiet and always seemed like something bothering him in his mouth, we noticed he is in pain.
my son tried to brush Darth's teeth, but when he started Darth's gums started bleeding and we can’t even get close to try to inspect them as it would hurt him.
My son's friends are coming over a lot and our dog causes problems, he humps his bed at least 4 to 5 times a day, the smell and the embarrassment my child's friends have when he does this is horrible.
because of this we went to his vet and they give us a 10 dollar appointment, and said that Darth needed to be neutered, also we need oral surgery with anesthesia, they want do both of the surgeries at the same time
Darth is experiencing a lot of pain and my child can't sleep knowing this.
we financially Cannot afford Darth's surgery, to the point where we couldn't pay rent if we treated him.
unfortunately we never neutered Darth as my husband refused to neuter him stating that it is "damaging men's rights".
the doctor told us that the sooner we finish the surgery the better, we want to do his surgery as soon as we can financially achieve it
My child is very attached to our dog and especially now in the middle of a divorce and financial problems, since my child has noticed that our dog is feeling pain, he has hard time sleeping and is really worried for Darth.
