My name is Julia and I am reaching out to our community for support. Our sweet Abby is facing a critical health challenge requiring pacemaker surgery costing about $8,000. She went to the vet on Jan 20th to have a lump removed from her leg and when she went under anesthesia, her heart rate plummeted from 108 to 20-30 bpm. The vet pulled her out of anesthesia immediately and we took her to the University of Illinois Animal Hospital. They determined her heart was no longer receiving signals properly to pump blood. We took her home with a heart monitoring vest after the anesthesia was fully out of her system and the results are that her heart rate is still too low, averaging in the range of 30 bpm. Without a pacemaker, enough blood isn't being provided to her entire body which can cause organ failure and death. She also cannot get the lump removed from her leg without a pacemaker due to her heart condition. We are trying to raise money to cover the pacemaker procedure so that our sweet girl can fully recover and continue her happy life with us. Every dollar donated will directly contribute to the cost of the surgery at the University of Illinois Animal Hospital and post-op care; if there are any funds leftover, they will be donated to an animal non-profit to help other animals.
