On Saturday, we had a terrible accident at the ranch.
Our homie Noah (15) had just asked his sweetheart to Homecoming right before heading over. He wasn’t riding more than ten minutes before he met the fence post at speed. He hit the reinforced post, which did not budge at all!
Noah went hard for his first break ever, breaking his femur, tibia in two places, and has a floating unattached knee.
He was Bay Flighted (via helicopter) to All Children’s Hospital, then with the fear of vascular damage, he was transferred again to Tampa General.
Noah had the first surgery that night ASAP to stabilize his leg the best they could for the night. The following morning (yesterday, Sunday), he went in for a 2-4 hour surgery which ended up being a solid 5-hour surgery. This was to put rods in the femur and tibia, but there was so much damage he ended up with a lot more plates and screws, with the rods.
Today, Monday morning, Noah’s red blood cell count is really low, he’s been tachycardic all night and today so they are going to give him a blood transfusion. His heart is working overtime. He is also still bleeding, so the ortho team will be taking him to get the bandages off to evaluate further.
Noah has very serious injuries. Noah also has a GREAT sense of humor and a wonderful attitude! He’s a trooper for sure, with a long road ahead of him.
Please keep Noah, and his family in your prayers.
