Our dear Jeff Plunkett needs surgery

Jeff was hospitalized four times last year (!!!)  for severe gall bladder attacks, and he's finally scheduled to have surgery on January 23, 2019.  The previous hospitalizations cost $4,840, just shy of his deductible, and he lost approximately $2,900 in wages due to his illness. The upcoming surgery is expected to cost at least $3,700.  That's a galling total of $11,440!

Independent artists and small business owners--as an actor and New York City tour guide, Jeff is both--are among those whose finances can be wiped out by medical bills. Let's try to raise at least $8,000 to help Jeff pay for his gall bladder surgery and earlier hospitalizations.

Many of us have been transported by Jeff's performances as an actor or educated thanks to his broad and deep knowledge of New York City and its history. We've also probably busted a gut laughing at his stories and been moved by his more serious observations about our shared humanity. Now is the time to show Jeff how much we love him and help him get back on his feet. Thank you in advance for your generosity, no matter how small the sum.
