UPDATE: Rosaura saw a private Oncologist yesterday who immediately admitted her into the private hospital to start intravenous feeding etc. with the hope of starting Palliative Chemo (advanced stage 4 stomach cancer) in the next day or two. Without this intervention Rosaura would have died waiting for her next appointment at the public hospital at the end of January. Your donations are already at work. Thank you all so very much. Please keep spreading the word of your love for Rosaura and donations so we can keep her at this hospital and living.
Dearest Family and Friends,
As many of you are aware, the end of October, our beloved Rosaura returned to her homeland of Costa Rica to get tests done for her unexplained stomach pain that were less expensive there and would be cared for by her sister. Unfortunately, the tests returned as advanced stage cancer. She was admitted to the hospital on New Year’s Day. She was discharged from the public hospital after a 12 day stay and is at her sister’s.
Rosaura is battling for her life. She has an appointment this Monday with a private oncologist to help expedite her continued care and treatment.
So many of you have asked what you can do to help and if a GoFundMe would be set up. We were waiting to learn more details, but unfortunately there have been delays. Her husband Greg brought his sister Susan who is a nurse in the Bay Area, and her BFF Diane are all there to help advocate for her care along with her sister and family.
The proceeds collected from this GoFundMe will be used for Rosaura’s medical care and any expenses to support her and Greg.
We don’t know how long Greg and Rosaura will be in Costa Rica. Rosaura and Greg both appreciate all of the prayers, cards, texts, vm’s and messages of love, strength, positivity and support. They have lifted her spirits immensely. Rosaura has been so overwhelmed with the outpouring of love for her. She is one of the strongest, most disciplined, most positive, caring, thoughtful and fun loving human any of us have ever been blessed to know.
Our beautiful petite but oh so mighty warrior with the biggest heart needs our help today. We want her to be able to focus on her own health, conserving her energy and not worry about the cost of medical procedures and expenses.
Any amount you can contribute will be much appreciated and put to good use. For those who may want 100% of your funds to go to Rosaura and avoiding any GFM fees, you can Venmo Diane directly @Diane-Batchelor there is a picture of Diane in FMRC kit. The last 4 digits of Diane's cell are: 9159 if it asks you to verify her account.
Rosaura, Greg and her family thank you from the bottom of their hearts for all your help. Please keep the prayers, positivity and hope flowing. Every bit helps. She loves you all and is so grateful for all you have done to help her.
