After contracting COVID at the beginning of January, Cheryl now has COVID pneumonia and cannot return to her job as a sonographer at a local hospital. She is currently on an indefinite leave of absence and has exhausted her paid time off, leaving her with mounting medical bills and no income. We’re calling on those of you who know and love Cheryl to help out in any way you can during this medical crisis.
As many of you know, Cheryl is significantly immunocompromised with rheumatoid arthritis. Even though she is triple-vaccinated, getting COVID has severe implications for her health. As a healthcare worker, Cheryl has put her health at risk every day during the pandemic. She prides herself on her ability to calm her patients during one of the most stressful times in their lives. Cheryl is a cancer-detecting ninja who can scan patients and find the smallest malignancy. Cheryl has worked in a dedicated breast clinic for 2 + years; during the pandemic, she risked her health, and that risk became a reality.
Cheryl has been to the emergency department and urgent care multiple times. A pulmonologist is currently treating her. She cannot take her immunosuppressants for RA as it would further delay her recovery. All the medical tests she has had come at a cost.
With paychecks on hold for the foreseeable future and medical bills mounting, we need your help to keep Cheryl on her financial feet until this crisis ends. Any amount that you can spare will be greatly appreciated. If Cheryl has ever helped you out in the past, taking a photo, giving advice, lending a compassionate ear, providing a belly laugh – and she probably has – please remember that as you consider this request. If you can’t give financially, that’s completely understandable. You can, however, help by reaching out to Cheryl to send your love and healing thoughts.
