Support for our dear friend and her sick son
Donation protected
On the 14th of October a group of us will be walking a Marathon to help raise funds for the continued care of George Davies whilst he undergoes his treatment and recovery for Acute Myloid Lukemia. Around 20 of us will take on the 26.2 mile route. We have all been putting in the hours in preparation for this and we anticipate that we will be walking for in excess of 9 hours on the day. A few blisters and achy legs do not compare to the gruelling treatments brave George has had to endure this year.
After George’s initial shock diagnosis on 2nd of June he has remained mainly an inpatient at Addenbrooks hospital in Cambridge and received first class care and treatment. Over the past four months George has been through many tests and treatments including three very intense rounds of chemotherapy and is due to start the fourth and ‘hopefully’, final round in early October. We are delighted to say that the latest results post the third round show that George is reacting really well to all his treatment and the doctors are optimistic that following the fourth round George can finally go home in time for his 13th birthday in November.
George will still need 24 hour care from Lisa and will need to attend many outpatient appointments. This fundraising aims to allow a single, self employed Mum, our dear friend Lisa concentrate on Georges care, understandably without the added stress and pressure of returning back to full time work, too soon.
We all thank you so much for for your support. All donations, big or small are welcome.
