Hi everybody, my name is Alina Zhao, and I am fundraising for the family of my friend, Gabrielle Wei, who passed away on November 30th, 2025 from osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer.

Gabbie or "Gabber" as my brother and I liked to call her, was diagnosed with cancer at just 14-years old and passed away 2 years later. She was only 16. Cancer is one of the most unforgiving and devastating diseases, and no child should have to go through what Gabbie went through. The costs of Gabbie's medical bills, as well as funeral costs, have created a huge financial burden for her family. I hope to relieve her family of this financial burden as they navigate through this difficult time.

Gabbie was not only a daughter to two loving parents, but also an older sister to her younger brother, Bruce.

Before she passed, Gabbie and Bruce had watched Wicked 2, a movie she really liked. I didn't get the chance to say goodbye to Gabbie, but if I had, the words would have sounded just like the lyrics from the song For Good.

It well may be that we will never meet again

In this lifetime, so let me say before we part

So much of me is made of what I learned from you

You'll be with me like a handprint on my heart

And now, whatever way our stories end

I know you have rewritten mine by being my friend

Gabbie was kind, caring, and full of gratitude. Even in her hardest moments, she still had a smile on her face, and a heart full of love.

Gabbie was loved by so many people, and she will be so missed.

Any amount, no matter how big or small, would help her family out so much during this difficult time.
