Our Darling Billy Eden, we’re wanting to raise anything we can to help Carly and his beloved girls at this awful time. Any donation will be gratefully received and mean the world to His 5 girls.

Everyone who knew Billy, knew how much his 5 girls meant to him. What they are going through is just totally heartbreaking. So we want to try and help with Funeral costs and try and relieve any stress we can. Billy forever worked hard to ensure his family were happy, safe and cared for.

Towards the end of 2023 Billy was unwell with a cough and this meant numerous visits to AandE eventually being treated for a chest infection with numerous steroids. Christmas and new year was an extremely difficult time with only a week home in the last 6 weeks. He eventually got the referral he so desperately needed to Royal Brompton. After months of ups, downs and struggling it finally felt like the family were getting somewhere and Billy was referred to Harefield for a double lung transplant.
This was a very big prospect and meant a huge piece of hope in Billy’s story. He stayed at foulis ward where he was able to spend some quality time with his family and friends. This meant everything to them all especially Billy. Unfortunately all of the treatments alongside such a progressive illness meant Billy’s body became very weak and unstable. Carly got the dreaded call that Billy was being moved to ICU where he continued to fight. It was then the doctors explained to Carly and the family that Billy’s body had taken enough and it was ready to rest and unfortunately the double lung transplant was no longer an option. This was earth shattering for the family who all held on to the hope this had brought. Continually asking and thinking about his 5 girls they were forever at the forefront of his mind.
Billy was very poorly but fought every battle with such strength and determination. Unfortunately on Sunday 11th February at 10pm, Carly held Billy’s hand tightly as she made the most difficult decision of her life. To switch off the ECMO machine meant she had to say goodbye to the love of her life, her everything, the girls everything. Billy passed away peacefully with everyone he loved around him. I know Billy is so proud of Carly’s strength and resilience. After 20 years together this is a very difficult and sad time for Carly so anything we can do to help ease unnecessary stress would mean everything.

Throughout his time in hospital the care Billy received was of the highest level and we are all eternally grateful for the care, help and support given to Him.
The staff at Royal Brompton treated Billy with complete dignity and respect throughout his time there which bought the family great comfort.

Thankyou to everyone for a being a part of Billy’s story. He had the best friends and family and they all meant the world to him.

If anybody has any memories, stories or pictures they would like to share with Carly and the girls please send me a message on contact. I will then send you an email we’ve set up for them all.
This will mean a lot for them to see and remember happy times of their beloved Best friend, Companion and Father.

Again any donation you are able to give will mean everything and more, let’s give Billy the send off he deserves. A true legend forever in our hearts you will be forever missed Billy ♥️
