Our Dad’s Cancer Journey and Final Wishes

Our dad is finally back home in NC and spending his days with us! We are still trying to figure out things with his Medicaid! We are so blessed to have this time to spend with him and are so blessed with all the support that we have gotten this far!

Our family is reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for help during the most difficult time of our lives. Our dad has been courageously fighting stage four pancreatic cancer for over a year. He has undergone chemotherapy and radiation, but the cancer has now spread to his liver. Recently, doctors shared with us that treatment is no longer effective, and he has been offered hospice care.

Our dad currently lives alone in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he has been receiving care through Oklahoma Medicaid. As his health declines, our biggest wish is to bring him back home to North Carolina so he can spend his final days surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.

Unfortunately, transferring Medicaid coverage from Oklahoma to North Carolina is a long and complicated process, and time is not on our side. In the meantime, we are facing significant out-of-pocket costs to cover transportation, medical equipment, home care, and other end-of-life needs to make sure Dad is comfortable and cared for here with us.

We are humbly asking for your support to help us bring our dad home.
