On September 13, 2016 we unfortunately received the terrible news that our beloved father has terminal cancer of the colon. And so began at that moment a whirlwind of tests, procedures and treatments. Despite our best efforts to try and slow down the process of the inevitable, we learned that it had spread all throughout his body and had become very aggressive. Since he had been disabled in late 2007 due to a stroke, the doctors advised us that any and all treatments would be deemed futile. But we held on to the hope that regardless of how small a chance a round of radiation therapy would increase his chance of surviving through the holidays, we went for it anyway. The next few weeks after that, it just seemed like a nightmare. His body started to deteriorate and everything started to go wrong. He was transfered from nursing homes to hospitals and back. His kidneys shut down, then his lungs started to take in fluids. He was given a catheter for the kidney and lungs. Even after seeing him go through all these things, he remained the cheerful and joyful daddy that we have always known. We tried our best to remain strong and encouraging, hoping for a miracle for him, but it was just like him with his great smile and spirit to be the one who would encourage us and keep our spirits high. He fought a long and hard battle these past few months. He lived a full and joyful life, but his work here on earth is finished and the Lord has called him home to be with Him in heaven. He left behind a loving and faithful wife, 2 children and 7 grandchildren. Our family's wish is to lay his remains next to his father in the Philippines. We are seeking any and all support from our family and friends to fulfill this wish. We know that our dearest father had touched so many lives and hope to make this possible. All the funds raised will be directly used for the expenses towards funeral costs, transportation, and any extra costs. Anything helps, from a quarter to a dollar. family. Thank you all for your never ending support and prayers for us, we love you all and God bless.
