My name is Josh, and I’m fundraising in memory of my Dad, Stephen Lonsdale, who sadly passed away from pancreatic cancer in July 2026, aged 58.
Dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer shortly before he passed away. It was an incredibly aggressive illness, and we had very little time to come to terms with what was happening.
To remember Dad and raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK, I’m taking on a challenge that is very personal to me — walking from Liverpool to Blackburn on what would have been Dad’s birthday.
The walk is approximately 57 miles, which is equivalent to 2 marathons back to back and I expect it to take around 16–20 hours to complete. It will be an extremely difficult challenge, but I wanted to do something that would properly push me physically while giving me an opportunity to raise money in Dad’s memory.
Pancreatic cancer has affected our family in a way I never could have imagined. I want to turn some of the sadness and helplessness we have felt into something positive and help support the work being done to improve early diagnosis, treatments and support for families affected by this terrible disease.
Every donation, no matter how small, would mean a huge amount to me and my family. Thank you for helping me remember Dad and support other families facing pancreatic cancer. ❤️
