Hi everyone, this is Ericka and Veronica, daughters of Javier Lara. Never in a million years did we imagine we’d be doing something like this. Everything happened so sudden with no warning. Our dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer. The doctors gave him one year to live. It was a shock to us hearing this from the doctor because we’ve always known our dad to be such a strong man. We always felt like he was unstoppable. Our dad was always active, riding horses, building us club houses in our ranch home, but most of all, a hard worker. No matter rain or shine, he always woke up at 4am ready to work and support our family. We’ve always admired this from him. Every Saturday morning he’d bring us donuts in the pink box, took us to swap meets and loved spending time with us. He taught us to always be yourself. He loved dancing like Micheal Jackson and he loved to sing. He always had everyone laughing. Our dad is always there to cheer us up when we were down. We aren’t used to seeing him in the conditions he is now. He is paralyzed on the right side of his body and has trouble speaking. Seeing him struggle just to say “I love you” hurts our hearts. Growing up, he made sure we knew that every day. With treatments being so expensive, we are asking our loved ones for help. Anything helps and we are grateful of every single one of you.
