Hello, my name is Dawnielle Diehl, and I truly appreciate you taking the time to read about my dad, Steve.

In May 2024, our family was blindsided when he was diagnosed with Basaloid Squamous Cell Carcinoma—simply put, cancer. He underwent his first surgery in July 2024 and his second in August. Then, just a week after Thanksgiving, he suffered a medical emergency and was rushed to the hospital by ambulance, where he was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). He was placed on oxygen before being discharged and has relied on it ever since.

Despite everything, he was not even in remission for six months before we received devastating news—his cancer is back. Now, he faces a grueling 10-hour surgery, followed by a week-long hospital stay.

I have traveled to Florida three times in the past six months, and my sister has also made the trip. We both live out of state, and the thought of not being there to support our mom and dad during this difficult time is unimaginable. The hospital is two hours from their home, making daily commutes impossible.

Any donations will go directly toward securing a place to stay near the hospital so we can be by his side and help with his recovery, as well as covering travel expenses.
